Following this, Eng. Nour Othman, Director of Academic Studies and Planning, presented the general academic plan and the approved academic calendar. She explained that the semester will commence, as scheduled, on January 13, 2026, and will include a midterm examination followed by a final examination, in accordance with the timetable published on the University platform.

She clarified that attendance at live lectures is a priority and constitutes a component of academic assessment with allocated grades. Consideration is given to valid excuses in exceptional cases, provided that students commit to attending the recorded lectures. She also confirmed that all assignments and academic tasks will be announced regularly through the electronic platform, which enables students to access class schedules, examination dates, and all information related to the academic process.

Eng. Nour added that the University’s academic programs have been meticulously designed, reviewed, and approved by the respective deanships and the Quality Management Department, ensuring full compliance with recognized academic standards.

  • Role of the Deanship of Student Affairs and Student Support

Within the same context, Dr. Hanan Ahmed, Director of the Deanship of Student Affairs, delivered a presentation outlining the role of the Deanship in supporting students and ensuring they benefit from all educational services, advantages, and training opportunities offered by the University.

She explained that the Deanship of Student Affairs serves as the primary support body for students, with its doors always open to address any issues or respond to inquiries from the first day of study until graduation. She also emphasized that Vertex students will take pride in earning degrees from an internationally licensed university that holds memberships in prestigious academic institutions and maintains partnerships with well-established Arab universities.

  • Student Interaction and Response to Inquiries

In the final segment of the meeting, the floor was opened for students to share their questions and suggestions. The most prominent inquiries focused on:

  • Lecture attendance requirements for working students and those facing compelling circumstances or valid excuses.
  • The language of instruction adopted by the University.
  • University accreditations and degree recognition.

All inquiries were addressed comprehensively. It was emphasized that attendance and active participation in live lectures are integral to academic assessment, as the University adopts an interactive, practice-oriented learning model. To support this approach, the University clarified that class schedules are designed to accommodate students’ circumstances, with lectures held during evening hours and weekends to suit working students or those with professional and personal commitments. Exceptional cases are considered upon coordination with the Deanship of Student Affairs.

Regarding the language of instruction, it was confirmed that the academic system primarily relies on Arabic to ensure clarity and effective comprehension, while English is used for scientific and professional terminology.
