In an effort to strengthen communication among members of its academic community and to promote the tradition of open scholarly dialogue, Vertex International University hosted a Ramadan Iftar gathering alongside its First Academic Forum, held at Aqua House Hotel near the university’s administrative headquarters in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The event brought together the warmth of the Ramadan spirit with the depth of academic engagement, in the presence of university leadership, faculty members, administrative staff, and distinguished guests including scholars, academics, senior officials, and representatives of partner institutions.
The gathering welcomed members of the University Board of Trustees, a number of administrative and academic staff, as well as distinguished guests from the academic and professional community. Representatives of the university’s academic partners also attended, including Bahri University and the Sudan Open University. In addition, members of the Vertex community from outside the Arab Republic of Egypt participated in the event through recorded messages and live virtual contributions, reflecting the international character of the university and the diversity of its academic network.
The ceremony and forum activities were organized under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Abed, Director of Academic Affairs at the university. The university aimed to make this gathering a platform for academic dialogue and the exchange of ideas, while also creating a welcoming Ramadan occasion that brought together members of the Vertex community in an atmosphere that strengthened connection, collaboration, and a shared sense of belonging.
Opening of the Ceremony and Forum Activities
The Iftar gathering coincided with the opening of the Vertex International University Academic Forum, which began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an. This was followed by the presentation of several documentary films highlighting the university’s journey, achievements, and academic vision in the field of electronic education and modern specialized programs.
The forum also featured speeches by the University President, the Executive Director, the Chairman of the Board, and the Deans of the Colleges, in addition to speeches by the Director of the Scientific Journals and the Director of the Development and Quality Department.
The speakers addressed key aspects of the educational model developed by Vertex University in the field of electronic learning, emphasizing its role in expanding access to higher education and developing academic programs that respond to the rapidly evolving demands of knowledge and the labor market.
Scientific Panel on E-Learning and Honoring Distinguished Faculty
The forum included a scientific panel discussion titled “E-Learning and Its Impact on the Quality of University Education in the Era of Digital Transformation.” During the session, participants discussed several issues related to the evolving forms of university education in the context of digital transformation, as well as the opportunities that electronic learning provides in improving the learning experience and enhancing the quality of educational outcomes.
The panel also highlighted the educational model implemented by Vertex University, which integrates digital technologies into the learning process and develops mechanisms that support the development of students’ skills and prepare graduates to meet the demands of the digital era and the needs of modern labor markets.
The forum also witnessed the honoring of a distinguished group of faculty members who have made notable academic and scientific contributions to the university, in recognition of their role in supporting the educational and research mission of the institution. In addition, a number of members of the Vertex community and the university’s guests shared their impressions and experiences through short remarks and media interviews on the sidelines of the event.
